Looking to put a late model 1980-up 5.0L engine into an earlier model and want to use all the early model accessories? Here's your answer.
Made to the early 1963-1969 small block depth of 3", this damper allows the use of a late 5.0L engine with a 50 oz. in. damper to be used in an early chassis where front clearance is at a minimum. Simply use the stock early model accessory drive, as this damper has both 3 and 4-bolt crankshaft pulley patterns. Of course it can also be used in 1982-1993 5.0L Mustangs, just use with spacer #81007 for proper pulley alignment.
In addition this damper has three sets of easy-to-read, white, 40 BTDC to 0 TDC timing marks to accommodate all years of small blocks. The supplied plastic insert can be used to center 3-bolt pulleys with a female pilot, or it can be removed to accept 3-bolt pulleys with a male pilot. And, if desired the external counterweight is removable if you desire to convert the engine to internal balancing as is common with many stroker kits.
Features:
- Made to earlier SBF length of 3" to allow use of a late 5.0L engine in an early chassis where clearance is tight
- Drilled for both 3 and 4 bolt accessory pulleys
- Includes insert to center 3-bolt pulleys with a female pilot, or remove for pulley with male pilot
- Three sets of white 40 BTDC to 0 TDC timing marks are easy to read and accommodate various SBF variations
- Removable external weight allows conversion to internal balancing if desired
