These manual steering boxes feature an original 20:1 ratio. This slower ratio is ideal for manual steering cars as it reduces the effort required to turn the steering wheel especially at low speeds and when stopped. The direct bolt-on design requires no modifications or core charge. Drake's steering boxes feature the exclusive solid shaft design just like the originals. Most of these boxes are worn out after 50+ years of service and are not rebuildable. Scott Drake's new boxes feature improved needle bearing design for smoother operation. These boxes eliminate play in the steering wheel, hesitation, and wandering. It improves high-speed tracking and an overall sense of control. Check your original steering box! This box has a 39 inch input shaft and 1 inch sector shaft, some models use a 1-1/8 inch sector shaft and this box is not compatible.
