Having the adjustable hitch step on the rear provides a safe, convenient stepping surface for accessing the truck bed or trunk / cargo area. Having the hitch step on the front of the vehicle allows for easier access when working under the hood. When the hitch step is not in use, it can easily be folded up and out of the way to avoid unnecessary obstructions.
