The TKX was designed specifically for the aftermarket. It's aluminum case has been streamlined vs. the previous TKO design to allow it for fit more applications with little to no floor pan modifications. Special grade steel shafts and wide gears provide 600 lb.ft. of torque capacity, 8,000 RPM engine speeds and 7,500 RPM shifts. Shiftability has been improved with multi-cone synchros. The three-piece aluminum housing provides outstanding structural stiffness and increased case strength. Gaskets at all flanges to simplify installation and eliminate fluid leaks. It's more civilized too with gear layout and caged needle bearings reduce end play while minimizing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Flexibility for custom installations not just through the compact case, but THREE available shifter locations. Saves money in that it comes with a high quality stub shifter bolted to the rear most location that is compatible with most Hurst® shift levers. Features a 26-spline input shaft and 31-spline output shaft and built-in reverse light and cruise control safety switches.
Gear ratios are: First 3.27, Second 1.98, Third 1.34, Fourth 1.00, Fifth .72, Reverse 3.00
